(More customer reviews)This thermometer is excellent for telling the temp at the location installed.I have one on my smoker and one on my Weber Kettle.When smoking, I rely upon a digital with the probe attached to the grate directly under the product.In the Weber, it is excellent for maintaining a good barbeque temp and grill preheat.
In difference to the first review who seems to expect different results than the intended use of a top mounted thermometer, I find these thermometers excellent as well as handsome and easy to read.
