(More customer reviews)It's very hard to find toaster ovens for only 2 slices these days.Most are for 4 to even 6 slices and can't fit on my counter.I bought this one because it fit BUT the height is SOOOO low that nothing but a thin piece of bread will cook in it without bursting into flames - a kaiser roll actually touches the top heating element.Needless to say, I sent this directly back as I really didn't want my house to burn down.
This might seem picky, but really it is called a "toaster oven" not just a "toaster" and I bought it to be able to make more than just toast, otherwise I'd just buy a toaster.

(More customer reviews)Great little toaster oven w/ lots of options. Possesses wide range of ability - from making toast to baking muffins. The rounded back side of the toaster oven allows for a 9" frozen pizza to be cooked within. Great thinking. Controls are simple, and easy to understand. A superior value for the money.

Room for improvement (reason for 4 stars/not 5):
1. The timer is loud - not obnoxiously so, but one is aware that the oven is on.
2. The design of the handle/glass door. Be very careful when opening the oven door! It is all too easy to touch part of the very hot glass door (burns!) when using the front handle. If you are aware of this - and are careful, is not a problem. Would not want children using this appliance for this reason.

(More customer reviews)I am pleased to say that this toaster make a perfect piece of toast no matter what type of bread/bagel/muffin, etc. that you put into it.Evenly browned on both sides, too, unlike many toasters.I love the count down feature which simplifies the age old conundrum of timing the toast so it comes out at the same instant the eggs are done.There is only one thing I don't like and that is having to unplug the toaster after each use---that is the only way to turn off the count down window lights.I guess you could just leave them lit but I suspect they might burn out in fairly short order.(The instruction book cautions you to unplug after use.) All in all, it's not really a big deal to pull the plug and certainly wouldn't keep me from buying this product.

The toast wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter.Very disappointing product for the money. Returned it and bought a cheaper toaster that works great!

(More customer reviews)Bought the Cuisinart CPT-170 2 slice toaster after reading many dozens of reviews of all types/brands of toasters online.Came to the realization that every product has negative reviews for one reason or another, so decided that the Cuisinart had the fewest and those were not a concern to me.Since I have received it, it has been a terrific toaster for me.It suits my tastes and looks good, too.Stainless steel and a blue LED count-down timer.I have toasted bread and english muffins without a problem. Browns evenly on both sides of the bread. Thanks for the pushup lever (for small items).It's easy to keep clean, also.Enjoy!
